Postcard 5 - An A Rated Performance

5 Always Delivering An 'A' Rated Performance

Today's built environment is more energy efficient than ever before, thanks to advances in knowledge, expertise and technology. That's why it's important we ensure hard-won energy efficiency gains are not compromised by ineffective and inefficient ventilation.

An 'A' Rated Performance

A legal requirement in the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom and European Union today, all Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) Systems must be supplied with an Energy Product Rating. Systems are rated on a scale from A+ to G. An A+ rated system is highly efficient, whilst a G rated unit is much less efficient.

The good news is that our standard range of Brink MVHR units is 'A' rated for energy efficiency, with selected models in the Brink range benefitting from an A+ rating:

Sky Series
  • Renovent Sky 150 A+
  • Renovent Sky 200 A
  • Renovent Sky 300 A+
Excellent Series
  • Renovent Excellent 180 A
  • Renovent Excellent 300 A+
  • Renovent Excellent 400 A+
  • Renovent Excellent 450 A
Flair Series
  • Flair 325 A+
Efficiency beyond Ecodesign

Nobody would question the benefits of the European Union's Ecodesign initiative. But as an environmentally responsible manufacturer, our standard range of Brink MVHR units has been additionally tested and approved by the Passive House Institute (PHI), making it the ideal choice for low-energy homes and passive house applications.

Additionally, the Brink range is also SAP Appendix Q listed.

Efficiency beyond Labels

Designed and engineered to deliver a highly efficient solution in the real world, Brink MVHR systems are characterised by unrivalled attention to detail. Low-energy fans and a highly efficient, counter-flow, heat exchange unit, allow you to recover more heat and ventilate more effectively, whilst using less energy.

A Whole House Approach To Ventilation

Recognising that an MVHR unit is a single component within a more complex system, a range of options is available to further increase system effectiveness and efficiency. Options include CO2 and Relative Humidity sensors and usefully, Brink units can also be integrated with selected third party building management systems too.

And of course, we always recommend the use of Ubbink Air Excellent semi-rigid air distribution systems, which has the highest, Class D airtightness rating, as per EN 12237.
