Postcard 4 - Expert Approvals

4 Expert Approvals
You wouldn't expect any ventilation manufacturer to hid their light behind the proverbial bushel when it comes to telling you just how good their systems are. But with a wide range of technologies, available from a myriad of manufacturers, it makes sense to also consider independent performance approvals, when choosing or specifying a ventilation system.

PHI Approval

Headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany, the Passive House Institute (PHI) helped pioneer the development of sustainable, low energy building solutions. Our standard range of Brink MVHR Systems is PHI approved, making it an ideal choice for homes built to passive house and low energy standards.

European Energy Product Ratings

All MVHR Systems supplied in Ireland, the United Kingdom and European Union today must be supplied with an independently verified energy rating. All Brink systems benefit from a minimum energy performance rating (EPR) of A, with many featuring the very highest A+ rating. The result is a product which recovers more heat and ventilates more efficiently, whilst using less energy.

SAP Appendix Q Listed

As you would expect from a leading European manufacturer, the standard range of Brink MVHR units is SAP Appendix Q listed.

Guaranteed Class D Airtightness

European Standard EN 12237 defines airtightness on a scale from Class A to Class D, with Class A product being the leakiest and Class D being the most airtight. Ubbink Air Excellent air distribution pipe has been independently tested and certified as delivering Class D levels of airtightness. Greater airtightness ensures minimum pressure loss, creating a more efficient system.

Beyond Airtightness

Airtightness is of course just one measure of the performance of an air distribution system. That's why Ubbink Air Excellent has been independently tested and certified by  TUV Sud  in accordance with TAK-01-2013. As well as confirming Class D levels of airtightness, TAK-01-2013 confirms:
  • Working pressure from -500 Pa to +500 Pa;
  • Ring stiffness as per ISO9969;
  • Operating temperature from -20°C to +60°C;
  • External pressure resistance of up to 200mm screed above maximum duct height.
Tried, Tested and Trusted

Engineered to exceed the most demanding technical and regulatory requirements, Brink MVHR Systems and Ubbink Air Excellent air distribution systems are today, tried, tested and trusted at hundreds of thousands of installations world-wide. When it comes to delivering effective, energy-efficient ventilation, Brink and Ubbink together are the default and low risk choice.
